Both the iPhone 6s & iPhone 6s Plus could pack a smaller battery than their predecessors

iPhone
Although the Apple iPhone 6s is going to be thicker than its predecessor, it could still come with a smaller battery than last year’s model.

According to Chinese sources, the iPhone 6s will be equipped with a 1715mAh capacity battery, 95 units less than the 1810mAh capacity battery on the current iPhone 6 model. Similarly, the iPhone 6s Plus will be equipped with a 2750mAh capacity battery, 160 units less than the 2910mAh capacity battery on the iPhone 6 Plus.

However, despite the reduction in battery capacity, the new iPhones could still manage to perform as good as their predecessors in terms of battery life due to the more efficient Apple A9 chipset, iOS 9, and other efficiency improvements over the previous generation models.

Whether or not the report is accurate will only be revealed on September 9th when Apple officially unveils the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus.
