Last year Apple released iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Both smartphones bring large displays, the largest yet on Apple’s smartphones, and yet rumors are circulating that the company is working on an iPhone 6 Mini. The sole purpose of this smartphone is to provide an option to customers who still want to stick with a device that has a 4-inch display.
It was said that the iPhone 6 Mini will tout specifications similar to the iPhone 5s in a package that has a 4-inch display. At no point has Apple acknowledged at any point that such a smartphone is under development. There’s little evidence in the supply chain to support the theory that something like this is happening.
Latest reports from news outlets tracking movement in Apple’s supply chain say that the company hasn’t put in any orders for a 4-inch iPhone as yet which could mean that all of the rumors about the iPhone 6 Mini are possibly fake.
Moreover the company is seeing a great response to its 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 models, these smartphones received a display size bump only because majority of the customers asked for it, so it doesn’t really make sense for Apple to go down to 4-inch once again.
There’s no doubt in the fact that rumors will continue in the absence of an official response from Apple. The company rarely comments on rumors and supply chain speculation, but that doesn’t mean an iPhone 6 Mini is coming for sure.
