iPhone 6 mass production reportedly about to begin soon

A new report published today claims that the iPhone 6 is now in the final step before final production commences.

The timing is certainly right. As per recent rumors Apple is going to hold the iPhone 6 unveil event on September 9th. Therefore it has less a little over a month now to get the batch ready, since the new iPhones usually hit stores a week after they’re unveiled.

This latest information about the iPhone 6 production comes from Weibo where Xiang Ligang, a local telecom expert, cited sources based in Foxconn’s Zhengzhou plant who reveal that the iPhone 6 is now in “product validation test.” This is the last stage before mass production kicks off.

Ligang also claims that there appear to be no production issues with the iPhone 6 right now with yield rates expected to be as high as 90 percent. This is a good sign because previously it was rumored that Apple was facing production issues with its new smartphone. If everything goes smoothly there are less chances of there being an unexpected delay.

This report doesn’t draw a distinction between the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and the 5.5-inch iPhone 6. There are conflicting reports about when they will be unveiled, some believe Apple will announce them together on September 9th, others hold the view that the 5.5-inch model will be unveiled after a couple of months.

Whatever the case may be, September is usually when Apple tells us about its iPhone plans and there’s no reason to believe that this time around it would give up its traditional release cycle.
