iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C will reportedly launch in Japan and Greece on September 20th

Rumor has it that Apple will launch iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C in Japan and Greece on September 20th. As of now, it is believed that the company will unveil both new iPhones at an event next month, presumably on September 10th.

iPhone 5S

This isn’t exactly the first time we’ve heard of a purported release date for Apple’s upcoming iPhones. This time around the company is expected to launch two new iPhones. The iPhone 5S will be the upgrade for iPhone 5 whereas the iPhone 5C will be an entirely different offering. Rumor has it that both devices will be unveiled together at the same event. Reports from publications based in Japan and Greece, Nikkei and Techmaniacs respectively, claim that both new iPhones will be launched in these markets on Friday, September 20th.

Apple has traditionally released the new iPhone in the past on Friday of the week that follows after its media event. That’s why the September 20th date is being thrown around. Since Apple has not yet confirmed if it will indeed be holding an iPhone related media event on September 10th, one can’t take this release date for the new iPhones for sure.

In this quarter, analysts expect that Apple will be able to sell 5.2 million units of the iPhone 5S and roughly 8 million units of the iPhone 5C. The low cost variant is expected to outsell its bigger sibling just because the company is apparently facing production issues in manufacturing the iPhone 5S.
