Intel’s recently announced 6th Gen Skylake processors will be available for sale starting today. As revealed earlier, only two SKUs will be available for now – the Core i7-6700K and the Core i5-6600K unlocked desktop processors.
The Core i7-6700K is available for $343 while the Core i5-6600K is available for $250. A number of major online retailers have come with bundles of the two CPUs with a LGA1151 motherboard at a discounted rate. Some retailers are even bundling DDR4 memory, which of course does cost higher than the standalone prices.
Even as the two chips go on sale, Intel is yet to reveal full Skylake micro-architecture details. It is expected that the company will reveal all the details on August 16th. Intel will then release some more Core i5 SKUs on August 29th.
