Intel has silently updated its Skylake-U lineup with the new Core i7-6660U processor. For now, the CPU has only been spotted in the company’s price list.
The mobile processor features two physical CPU cores with hyperthreading, 4MB of L3 cache, and a TDP of 15W. The core frequency is listed to be 2.4GHz, but the turbo frequency has not yet been revealed. The price list reveals the Core i7-6660U will cost $415, which is the same as the previous top Skylake-U processor, the Core i7-6650U.
Intel Core i7-6660U also offers a dual-channel memory controller (with support for DDR3L-1600, LPDDR3-1866, and DDR4-2133 memory), integrated Intel Iris Graphics 540, and Enhanced SpeedStep technology.
You can expect the new processor to show up in Ultrabooks and notebooks soon, possibly starting from Q2.
