iBuyPower gets into the peripheral market with the MEK keyboard

MEK keyboard

Boutique gaming PC vendor iBuyPower is now expanding into the accessory market, launching its first gaming keyboard. Featuring an angular design, the MEK keyboard is aimed at enthusiast gamers. The accessory comes with all the features one would normally associate with a gaming keyboard: Mechanical switches (Cherry MX Red), 1000Hz polling rate, 21-key rollover and 256KB memory.

The on-board memory allows you to store six different profiles and macro keys, which can be configured through the integrated software. Instead of going for the RGB Cherry switches, iBuyPower has decided to house the switches along red LEDs, which provide the backlight. The LEDs can be set to five varying levels of brightness. Other niceties include a braided cable and a key remover tool for easy maintenance.

The keyboard measures 17.3×60.9×1.5 inches, and weighs 2.5lbs. To promote the launch of the MEK, iBuyPower is offering the keyboard for free with purchase of select Intel processors, including the i5-4690K, i7-4790K, i7-5775C, i7-5820K, i7-5930K, i7-5960X, i5-6600K, and the i7-6700K.
