A new rumor out of China claims Huawei P9 might be announced tomorrow at the company’s pre-CES event.
The rumor also claims the Huawei P9 will be equipped with an unprecedented 6GB of RAM, 2GB more than the current maximum on a smartphone. While that may give Huawei bragging rights, we fail to understand why someone would need 6GB of RAM on a smartphone.
Anyway, moving on now. The flagship smartphone may sport a 5.2-inch sized display, with 1080p resolution seeming more likely than Quad HD given Huawei’s insistence on sticking with 1080p resolution on its flagship smartphones. It will be powered by Huawei’s homebrew Kirin 950 octa-core SoC based on the ARM Cortex-A72 architecture. A dual camera setup on the back and a fingerprint scanner are also reportedly going to be part of the package.
Previously leaked info had suggested the handset would debut in March this year.
