The Honor 8 was launched by Huawei back in mid-2016, and the Chinese manufacturer has now quietly launched an Honor 8 Lite over in Finland. The Honor 8 Lite wasn’t an expected device, with no leaks and rumors to support its existence, it looks to be a rebranded P8 Lite (2017) when it comes to specifications. The handset is now available for pre-order in Finland and will go on sale on February 17th. It is priced at €269 (roughly SGD 410).
The Honor 8 Lite features a 5.2-inch LTPS Full HD display, with an octa-core Kirin 655 processor ticking under the hood. There is 3GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable internal storage, a 12-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel front camera, a fingerprint scanner, a 3,000 mAh battery, and Android 7.0 Nougat with Huawei’s EMUI 5.0 skin. These specs are the same as the P8 Lite (2017)’s, with the only difference being the aperture of the rear camera – the P8 Lite has an F2.0 camera while the Honor 8 Lite features a camera with F2.2 aperture.
The Honor 8 Lite looks as beautiful as the Honor 8, especially in the color blue. Other color options include white, black and gold. There is no word on whether the handset will go on sale in other regions yet; it’s possible Huawei will be focusing on specific markets with the Honor 8 Lite, while offering the P8 Lite (2017) in others.
