A new report from International Business Times is claiming that a Huawei UK employee has confirmed to them that the company is indeed working with Google to launch a new Nexus smartphone later this year.
According to the employee, the Huawei Nexus will serve two purpose – improve the company’s relationship with Google and also help Huawei build its image in the Western markets. Huawei, much like most Chinese Android OEMs, has so far not been a major player in the West.
Unfortunately, the source was not willing to share any specific details about the Huawei Nexus, so we still need to go by the previous rumors that point to a 5.7-inch Quad HD resolution display and Qualcomm’s hot Snapdragon 810 SoC being the main highlights of the device.
Just like the previous years, expect to see the Huawei Nexus smartphone to show up by the fourth quarter of the year.
