According to a new rumor out of China, Huawei is likely to announce a new high-end smartphone dubbed the “D8” with some highly impressive specs next year.
The D8 was first leaked last year in an alleged Huawei roadmap that suggested the device could be announced sometime in 2015. However, the new report suggests the smartphone will now launch next year.
Reportedly, the Huawei D8 will sport a 5.5-inch Quad HD resolution display with sapphire glass on top for protection. The smartphone is said to be powered by the Kirin 960 SoC when it launches and could be equipped with 4GB of RAM. Of course, the Kirin 960 SoC hasn’t been announced yet and isn’t really likely to be announced until next year as Huawei only recently debuted the Kirin 950. In addition to boasting of an impressive spec-sheet, the D8 is also rumored to be pretty expensive when it launches, with a price-tag of around 5000 Chinese Yuan ($775).
