The leaked pictures reiterate earlier rumors of the HTC One M9 featuring a high-resolution camera.
Ever since HTC more or less confirmed that it would launch the next One flagship in March, things are starting to heat up as far as leaks regarding the One M9’s hardware are concerned. Bloomberg published a report yesterday saying the One M9 would feature a 20-megapixel rear camera and look similar to the HTC One M8, and now, leaked images are reaffirming both of those aspects of the Taiwanese manufacturer’s next flagship.
In fact, the phone seen in these images looks a bit too much like the One M8, though the camera module on the back suggests this is a different phone. The size of the camera sensor might mean that the M9 indeed has a 20-megapixel rear camera. Also, while the pictures don’t show it, it looks like HTC could ditch the secondary depth sensor on the M9; that wouldn’t be a bad move, given it didn’t really serve any function that users would find necessary or use too often.
Of course, the authenticity of these images can’t be confirmed, as the device pictured could simply be a prototype (or possibly a different phone altogether.) But with just a little over a month left to go before the One M9’s official announcement, we will no doubt see more leaks make their way on to the internet and paint a better picture of what HTC has in store for us.
