It is now finally “unofficially” confirmed that the next HTC flagship smartphone is going to be marketed as the One M10. The One M10 name recently appeared in a drop-down list of devices in a web survey form on the HTC website.
In addition to the marketing name, more details regarding the smartphone’s rear camera have also surfaced today, thanks to a full-size leaked sample photo taken by a prototype unit. As revealed in the Venture Beat report a few weeks back, the One M10 is going to feature a 12MP primary camera. The EXIF info from the photo reveals the 12MP sensor will be paired with an f/1.9 aperture lens, which is slightly disappointing when compared to the competition. The LG G5 camera features an f/1.8 aperture while the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge cameras feature an f/1.7 aperture.
In theory, the HTC One M10 may be at a slight disadvantage compared to its competition in terms of low-light performance, but we will need to wait for the first direct comparisons to be completely sure.
