HTC launched three new devices in the Desire series today in the Chinese market. All devices feature qHD screens and come with dual-SIM functionality.

Desire handsets

HTC has bolstered its offerings in the Desire series by launching three additional models. The Desire 709d, Desire 7060 and Desire 7088 feature identical hardware, with the only difference being in the design of these handsets.

The mobiles come with a 5-inch screen with a qHD resolution (960 x 540), and feature Qualcomm’s 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 CPU that comes with an Adreno 203 GPU. The devices have 1 GB RAM, 8 GB ROM along with a micro-SD card slot that can boost internal memory to 64 GB. Also included is an 8-megapixel camera at the back, a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera and a 2,100 mAh battery.

These devices run Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean along with the Sense 5 UI, which means that they feature HTC’s BlinkFeed news aggregator and utilities like Highlight Reel. They also come with the BoomSound stereo speakers and have dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) functionality.

It is not clear whether these devices will be launched outside China. HTC is renewing its interest in the country following a dismal year which saw the Taiwanese manufacturer post its first quarterly loss. HTC is looking to make a comeback by targeting markets like China and India, in which the manufacturer has a strong user base.
