HTC Bolt will launch as the ’10 evo’ in global markets

Leakster and ROM developer @LlabTooFeR has confirmed in a tweet that the recently unveiled Sprint-exclusive Bolt will launch as HTC 10 evo in other markets. As of now, HTC apparently plans to launch the smartphone only in EMEA region (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa). That means consumers in Asia and a few other markets may not get their hands on the 10 evo anytime soon. The name was previously revealed by Evan Blass, one of the most trusted smartphone leaksters around.

The HTC 10 evo features a design very similar to the company’s flagship handset, but is powered by the outdated Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core SoC. The display measures 5.5-inches diagonally, with 1440 x 2560 Quad HD resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top.

Similar to the chipset under the hood, the 10 evo isn’t an impressive device when it comes to memory. It comes with 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 32GB of built-in storage, which can be further expanded by up to 256GB. The rear camera is a 16MP unit with an f/2.0 aperture lens, optical image stabilization, and a dual-tone LED flash. Taking care of selfies is an 8MP snapper on the front, which can also capture videos at up to 1080p Full HD resolution.

Other notable highlights from the smartphone’s spec-sheet include a USB Type-C port, fingerprint scanner embedded inside the home button, 3200mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0, USB Type-C port, and IP57 certification for dust and water resistance. The handset runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system out of the box, with HTC Sense UI on top.
