HTC Bolt launched as the HTC 10 evo for Europe

The HTC Bolt recently made its official debut on the US’ Sprint network, and HTC has now launched the device as the HTC 10 evo for European markets, as expected. The HTC 10 evo, like the Bolt, carries the same design as the HTC 10, the company’s 2016 flagship, but with slightly downgraded specs and a larger screen. There’s a 5.5-inch Quad HD display at the front, and the 10 evo is powered by last year’s overheating-prone Snapdragon 810 chipset.

The HTC 10 evo has a 16-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization – the resolution is higher than the HTC 10’s rear camera, but there is no UltraPixel technology on-board. The front has an 8-megapixel camera, and the phone also comes with 3GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB of expandable internal storage, IP57 water and dust resistance, and a USB Type-C port. The battery is a 3,400 mAh unit, considerably bigger than the 3,000 mAh cell that powered the HTC 10. On the software front, the 10 evo gets Android 7.0 Nougat, making it one of the few smartphones to have launched with the latest iteration of Android out of the box.

The HTC 10 evo is available for pre-order in Taiwan in silver, gold and gunmetal colors, with pricing set at $564 for the 32GB model and $626 for the 64GB version. HTC hasn’t said anything about availability and pricing in Europe, but the company has said that the phone will only be available through online stores in the continent. Sales in Taiwan begin on November 28th, and the European launch should follow soon after.
