HTC ‘Aero’ to debut as the A9 with a deca-core chip and 2.5D curved glass

More details on HTC’s upcoming ‘hero’ phone have surfaced finally.

According to a new report from China, the HTC ‘Aero’ will be marketed as the HTC A9 when it launches in October. The device will not be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset but the deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 chipset. It will also feature 2.5D curved glass and boast of a ‘groundbreaking’ rear camera.

Even though the device will be powered by a MediaTek chip, HTC has plans of releasing the A9 in the US. AT&T is likely to get first dibs on the device. Featuring a metal unibody design, the A9 will be offered in Tyrant Gold and Dark Gray color options. Rumored pricing is in the $470 to $626 range.

The A9 will only be an intermediary device though, the next flagship from HTC is expected to be the HTC O2.
