HTC recently released a teaser boasting of “world class, world first” cameras on its upcoming flagship smartphone. It now looks like the “world first” feature could be optical image stabilization on the HTC 10’s front-facing camera.
The confirmation comes from Twitter user @testingsmiles, who posted quite a few samples taken with the HTC 10’s OIS selfie camera. Unfortunately, the samples aren’t full size, so you shouldn’t judge the quality based on these images. Anyway, you won’t need to wait much longer for proper full-size samples from the OIS selfie camera as the HTC 10 will be announced next Tuesday.
The rear 12MP snapper on the HTC 10 will also feature optical image stabilization, just like most other modern flagship smartphone. According to HTC, its upcoming flagship is going to be “the best ever smartphone for shooting photos and videos”. That’s definitely a bold claim and we seriously hope HTC doesn’t let us down this time as the One M9 was a disaster in the camera department.
