HP Pavilion X2 detachable PC & new ENVY notebooks go official

HP today announced the next-gen Pavilion detachable PC and a new line of ENVY notebooks.

The HP Pavilion X2 is a detachable PC that combines a super thin tablet with a notebook form factor. You can easily switch between notebook to tent mode to stand mode thanks to a new magnetic hinge. It weighs just 1.29 pounds when used as a tablet and 2.48 pounds when you attach the keyboard. The Pavilion X2 isn’t just light, it is also impressively thin at just 9.65mm in tablet mode and 16.76mm with the keyboard attached. It features a 10-inch HD IPS display, USB Type-C connector, dual-front facing speakers with B&O Play, and 64GB of storage. The device is powered by a quad-core Intel Atom CPU and is rated for a battery life up to 10.75 hours when playing full HD video.

The HP ENVY lineup includes new 14 and 15.6-inch 2015 models with a new design and improved battery life. Both the 14 and 15.6-inch ENVY notebooks are powered by Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processors and up to 2 TB storage. The 15.6-inch model also comes with the option of sixth-gen AMD FX and A10 APUs. GPU options include NVIDIA GeForce GT 940M, GTX 950M, AMD Radeon R7 or R6 graphics.

ENVY

The 14-inch ENVY notebook will be available in a HD or Full HD non-touch display. Its 15.6-inch sibling on the other hand, comes with a choice of HD, Full HD, as well as Quad HD+ display panels with optional touch. The ENVY notebook are claimed to offer up to 10.25 hours of battery life.

Along with the 14 and 15.6-inch models, HP also unveiled the 17.3-inch ENVY notebook with a Full HD IPS display, fifth generation Intel Core i7 CPUs, NVIDIA GeForce 940M or GTX 950M discrete GPUs, and up to 4TB of onboard storage. Like the 15.6-inch model, the 17.3-inch ENVY notebook also offers Bang & Olufsen audio with quad-speakers and a subwoofer.

The HP Pavilion X2 as well as the ENVY series notebooks are expected to be available starting next month. HP’s new Pavilion X2 will be available starting at $299.99, 14-inch ENVY from $699.99, 15.6-inch ENVY from $629.99, and 17.3-inch ENVY from $999.99.
