Honor has announced that the Honor 8 is going to be the brand’s very first device to be updated to the latest Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. The update will be rolled out in February next year, so owners of the Honor flagship will need to be patient.
In addition to bringing the latest version of Android to users, the update will also come with EMUI 5.0, which offers several new features and improvements. One of the key new features of EMUI 5.0 will be the ability to enable an app drawer, something that is not possible with the current version of EMUI. Users will be able to run different profiles in parallel as well, switching effortlessly between their professional and personal lives.
EMUI 5.0 also promises to dynamically optimize processing resources with the Machine learning feature, which analyzes user behaviors and prioritizes the most frequently accessed apps. Security will be improved as well, with users gaining the option of securing certain apps with the App Lock feature. For improved battery life, EMUI 5.0 will feature an intelligent power management system, with several power saving modes that will help users extend battery life easily. In addition to these changes, you can also look forward to usual Nougat goodies such as improved ‘Doze’, new set of emojis, revamped notifications, split-screen multitasking, and more.
