HARMAN’s Global Fight Against Fakes – Asian, South American Shops Raided

22 August 2017 – HARMAN International announced that law enforcement authorities in Thailand and Brazil had successfully conducted a series of raids on manufacturers and distributors of counterfeit HARMAN products.

The products involve knock-offs of popular JBL Professional, JBL Consumer, and dbX Professional products. More than 1600 fake JBL audio products were confiscated in Brazil alone, including portable bluetooth speakers; while in Thailand almost 600 imitation JBL professional products were seized from retail outlets, warehouses and factories throught Udon Thani and Phuket.

“HARMAN is committed to protecting the integrity and image of its brands, and will not hesitate to vigorously defend against the unauthorised use of its name, designs and trademarks,” said Jaakko Alajoki, Legal IP Specialist, HARMAN. “As demand for our products continues to increase, we will continue to partner and cooperate with investigators and law enforcement agencies around the world to safeguard our intellectual property, and ensure that consumers are protected from counterfeit products.”
