Gionee will soon launch a new smartphone that could impress all the power users out there. Known only by its model number so far (M2017), the smartphone will feature a humungous 7000mAh capacity battery. The smartphone was certified by TENAA in China recently and has also made its way through the popular AnTuTu benchmark.
The M2017 will feature a large 5.7-inch 1440 x 2560 Quad HD AMOLED display, boasting of a high pixel density figure of 518 pixels per inch. Under the hood, the smartphone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 octa-core chipset with the Adreno 510 GPU, paired with a generous 6GB of RAM. Onboard storage will be equally impressive at 128GB.
Similar to a number of recent smartphones, the Gionee M2017 will feature a dual-camera setup at the back with a 13MP + 12MP combination. For selfies, the smartphone will feature an 8MP front-facing camera. A fingerprint scanner can also be seen on the front of the handset, below the AMOLED display. Connectivity features include all the usual options such as Wi-Fi, 4G LTE with VoLTE, Bluetooth, GPS with A-GPS, and Infrared. In terms of dimensions, the smartphone measures 155.2 x 77.6 x 10.65mm and weighs in at 230 grams. On the software front, the smartphone will be running on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow at launch, although we expect it to be updated to Android 7.0 Nougat at a later date.
While no announcement date has been rumored yet, we do expect the M2017 to be made official before the end of the year.
