GIGABYTE today announced the launch of the Radeon RX 460 WINDFORCE OC edition graphics cards in 4GB and 2GB memory variants.
These two new cards are based on AMD’s latest Polaris 11 GPU and can be powered directly from the PCI Express slot. Despite not requiring any auxiliary power, the cards do offer “brilliant” overclocking performance up to 1212 MHz. Apart from eSports gaming, the card is likely to appeal to HTPC builders as well, thanks to Ultra HD HEVC encode and decode support.
The cards come with two semi-passive 80mm fans that feature a unique blade fan design that enhances airflow. The WINDFORCE 2X cooling solution ensures the RX 460 WINDFORCE OC runs cool and virtually silent even when playing any of the popular eSports games. During light loads, the fans turn off completely to provide a completely silent computing experience.
Thanks to a robust 4+1 power phase design and ultra durable chokes and capacitors, the RX 460 WINDFORCE OC cards can be overclocked easily to extract higher performance.
