If you love green, you will be quite impressed with GIGABYTE’s new G1.Sniper B7 socket LGA1151 motherboard announced today.
The G1.Sniper B7 socket LGA1151 is a socket LGA1151 motherboard and is based on the Intel B150 Express chipset. It supports the latest Intel Skylake 6th Generation processors and features four DDR4 DIMM slots. The board draws power using a 24-pin ATX and an 8-pin EPS power connector, with 7-phase VRM for the CPU.
Expansion slots offered include one PCI-Express 3.0 x16 and PCI-Express 3.0 x4, two PCIe 3.0 x1 and legacy PCI, and one mPCIe 3.0 x1. For storage connectivity, the board offer one M.2 32Gb/s and SATA-Express 16Gb/s ports, and eight SATA 6Gb/s ports. Networking is handled by the Intel i219V gigabit Ethernet controller. The onboard audio is impressive as it offer a 115 dBA SNR CODEC with ground-layer isolation, audio-grade electrolytic caps, and an OPAMP. Additionally, the board also includes three USB 2.0 DAC-UP ports for USB headsets. Peripheral connectivity is handled by two USB 3.0 ports on the rear panel of the board and two by the header.
The G1.Sniper B7 has a green LED strip running through its length on the front, giving it a cool look. Like most other new motherboards, it offers support for dual-UEFI BIOS. Pricing details aren’t yet available but it is expected to cost around the $100 mark.
