G.SKILL today announced two new DDR4 memory series – the Flare X series and FORTIS series. The two new series have been designed and tested specifically for AMD’s new Ryzen processor platform. Both the Flare X and FORTIS series DDR4 memory modules have been validated for optimized stability and compatibility with the new AMD Ryzen family of processors and the new AM4 motherboards.
The Flare X series DDR4 memory kits are built with carefully selected IC ships that have been specifically tested and validated on the AM4 platform. FORTIS on the other hand has been designed for the best quality, reliability and compatibility. The FORTIS series, G.SKILL claims, is the most ideal and cost effective DDR4 solution for building a performance AM4 gaming system.
G.SKILL R&D team managed to overclock the 64GB (4x16GB) kit to DDR-3200MHz at CL-14-14-14-34 timings on the ASUS ROG Crosshair VI Hero motherboard and the AMD Ryzen 7 1700 processor. It also managed to overclock the 16GB (2x8GB) kits to a blistering fast DDR-3466MHz frequency with CL 16-16-16-36 timings on the ASUS ROG Crosshair VI Hero motherboard and an 8-core AMD Ryzen 7 1700 processor. The validation screenshots for both can be viewed below.
G.SKILL’s new Flare X and FORTIS series DDR4 memory kits will be available in DDR4-2133MHz and DDR4-2400MHz in various capacity configurations, ranging from 16GB to 64GB. The Flare X series will be available in higher speeds of DDR4-3200MHz and DDR4-3466MHz. Both the series will go on sale starting next month.
