Fujifilm X-Pro1 to launch in Japan on 18 February

Fujifilm unveiled the X-Pro1 mirrorless camera at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas two weeks ago. And for those waiting to get their hands on this, the X-Pro1 is scheduled to launch in March, but it seems that it will first come to Japan on 18 February.

The Fujifilm X-Pro1 is the company's first mirrorless interchangeable lens camera, which was recently unveiled at CES 2012, in Las Vegas. The 16-megapixel camera features a hybrid Viewfinder, which allows users to switch between an optical viewfinder (OVF) and electronic viewfinder (EVF) quickly. According to the news release, the X-Pro1 will be available in March, though it will be launched in Japan on 18 February. Retail price is approximately 150,000 yen (US$1,930) for the camera body only, which is extremely expensive compared to the mirrorless cameras on the market.

For the camera lens, the XF 18mm f/2 R Fujinon lens or XF 35mm f/1.4 R Fujinon lens are selling at 55,000 yen (US$710) each, while the the XF 60mm f/2.4 R macro lens is retailing for 60,000 yen (US$774).
