Indian smartphone maker Ringing Bells today announced the world’s most affordable smartphone, priced at INR 251 ($4).
Dubbed the Freedom 251, the smartphone comes with a 4-inch IPS display with 540 x 960 qHD resolution. It is powered by an unspecified quad-core SoC clocked at 1.3GHz, paired with 1GB of RAM. The smartphone includes 8GB of onboard storage, which can be further expanded thanks to a microSD card slot. As expected, the smartphone isn’t very impressive on the imaging front. It features a 3.2MP autofocus camera at the back and a VGA snapper on the front for taking selfies.
Other key specs of the Freedom 251 include a 1450mAh battery, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 3G network support. The smartphone will be available for booking starting tomorrow and is expected to go on sale starting later this week via the official website.
