These are the free Xbox games coming to your console in April

Microsoft has detailed the four free games that will be heading to the Xbox Games With Gold program in the month of April. The headliner is Ryse: Son of Rome, Crytek’s third-person action-adventure hack and slash game that was a launch title for the Xbox One. Throughout April, you’ll be able to pick up Ryse for free.

If you haven’t encountered Ryse before, here’s what’s on offer:

Ryse: Son of Rome tells the story of Marius Titus, a young Roman soldier who witnesses the murder of his family at the hands of barbarian bandits, then travels with the Roman army to Britannia to seek revenge. Quickly rising through the ranks, Marius must become a leader of men and defender of the Empire on his quest to exact vengeance – a destiny he soon discovers can only be fulfilled much closer to home.

These are all the games that will be available for free next month:

Xbox One:

  • Ryse: Son of Rome – April 1 to April 30
  • The Walking Dead: Season 2 – April 16 to May 15

Xbox 360:

  • Darksiders – April 1 to April 15
  • Assassin’s Creed Revelations – April 15 to April 30
