Free WH-1000XM3 ANC Headphones With Sony Xperia 1 Pre-orders

Sony has announced the flagship Xperia 1 (SGD 1,299) flagship smartphone, which promises to put Sony back on the map with unique features. In Singapore, Sony will bundle a pair of the top-of-the-line WH-1000XM3 active noise-cancelling headphones.

The Xperia 1 brings Sony’s various cutting-edge technologies in OLED displays, camera autofocus and video capability into a compact form factor.

With the company’s heritage in display making best exemplified by the Bravia line of televisions, the 6.5-inch display on the Xperia 1 will be the world’s first 4K OLED CinemaWide screen on a smartphone, with added HDR goodness.

It supports 10-bit tonal gradation and is protected by the durable Corning Gorilla Glass 6 on both front and rear surfaces, with IP65/IP68 water resistance for added peace of mind.

This is paired with Dolby Atmos audio tuned with Sony Pictures Entertainment for an immersive, theatrical experience.

With such a tall aspect ratio, the Xperia 1 also better supports dual-app multitasking.

Borrowing from its successful line of Alpha-series mirrorless cameras, Sony’s Xperia 1 will also be the world’s first smartphone to deliver Eye AF, along with 10fps burst shooting with AF/AE TRACKING. These are powered by the BIONZ X image processing chip.

It also marks a watershed for the company as the first triple-camera smartphone. The 12-megapixel camera array consists of a 26mm-equivalent lens augmented by a 16mm ultra-wide and a 52mm telephoto for 2x zoom.

With a bright f/1.6 aperture and large 1.4μm pixel pitch with Dual Photo Diode on its sensor, the Xperia 1 promises great performance in low-light conditions.

While Sony’s Alpha mirrorless cameras are known for their powerful video capabilities, the Xperia 1 takes it a notch higher by transferring the expertise behind its commercial full-frame Venice cinema camera.

A new Cinema Pro feature produces footage with cinematic tones with eight user-selected presets. Video can be captured in 4K HDR at 24fps in a widescreen 21:9 format. For added convenience, users can ‘capture’ still moments whilst recording or from playback. Optical SteadyShot delivers an effective hybrid stabilisation system for steady, professional-looking footage.

Powering it all is the latest flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset, allowing for the best mobile connectivity, along with improved multitasking and graphics performance. Snapdragon Elite Gaming aids in resource management during gaming to keep intense background processes in check.

With top-tier components and a good battery, the Xperia 1 is also ideal for gamers. Image: Sony

Sony also promises an all-day battery life with a 3,300 mAh battery augmented with software smarts like Smart Stamina, Battery Care and Xperia Adaptive Charging to keep you powered throughout the day.

The Sony Xperia 1 will be available in Black, Purple and Grey in Singapore from 29 August 2019 at all Sony Stores and online on Lazada at an RRP of SGD 1,299
