First episode of The Tyranny of King Washington DLC coming Feb. 19

Assassin's Creed III new three-part DLC promises to add an interesting alternate reality to Ubisoft's award-winning title, and is planned for a multi-platform release in mid-February.

In a recent news update, Ubisoft has announced the release date for the first episode of The Tyranny of King Washington, the upcoming three-part DLC pack that expands the18th century world of Assassin's Creed III.

The Tyranny of King Washington chronicles an alternate reality wherein a corrupt and tyrannical George Washington uses fear and violence to rule America with an iron grasp, proving to be more of a despotic terror than the British monarch King George III.

The first episode of the three-part tale is called The Infamy, and tells the beginnings of the alternate reality starting with Washington's rise to infamy and villainy:

"It’s 1783 and the American Revolution is over, our hero, Ratonhnhaké:ton, awakens from an unsettling dream to find that despite his efforts to deliver justice in the newly-founded United States of America, a new king has been crowned – George Washington.

Blinded by a thirst for unlimited power, Ratonhnhaké:ton must dethrone the tyrant and return freedom to the land."

The Infamy will be release on Feb. 19 for 800 Microsoft Points ($9.99) on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Owners of the Assassin's Creed III Season Pass (2400 MSP/$29.99) will receive the content for no additional charge.
