First consumer NVIDIA “Pascal” cards to debut at Computex 2016

NVIDIA

Taiwanese publication DigiTimes is claiming that NVIDIA will be unveiling the first consumer graphics cards based on its next-gen “Pascal” architecture at the Computex 2016 exhibition in Taipei.

According to the report, major graphics card manufacturers such as ASUS, Gigagyte, and MSI will be showing off their reference board products at Computex this year. All the major players are said to begin shipping their Pascal graphics cards in July.

Rival AMD also has new cards in the pipeline, based on “Polaris” architecture. However, AMD’s next-gen cards will reportedly launch a few weeks after NVIDIA’s new cards, which should give NVIDIA a significant advantage in the third quarter.

As rumored previously, the top two cards that will launch first will be the GeForce GTX 1080 and the GTX 1070, successors to the GeForce GTX 980 and the GTX 970.
