‘Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn’ breaks 2 million registered users milestone

Square Enix reports that over 2 million registered users have signed up for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, giving the studio a much-needed boost.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has not only uplifted Square Enix in terms of profits and acclaim, but it has also renewed the franchise with a worthy successor to the MMO genre. Square has completely reinvented Eorzea with a multitude of in-game enhancements, including breathtaking visuals, enamoring characters, and a slew of gear, items and character-specific skills–and the changes are paying off.

Square Enix has recently announced that over 2 million users have registered for their newly invigorated MMO, breaking a new milestone for the game.

The company hit 1.5 million users back when FFXIV: ARR released on PS3 and PC, and now that the PS4 version is out, the beloved J-RPG maker will no-doubt hit even more record-breaking subscriptions.

It’s fantastic to see Square’s hard work and perseverance pay off in the end, especially since the game’s success helped the company avoid being mired in another financial crisis. Given time–and fresh waves of updated content–we’ll likely see more users attach themselves to the fantasy MMO, and it’s fair to say that Square has learned from their mistakes and knows what not to do with the fate of new Eorzea.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is now available for PC, PS3 and PS4. For more information be sure to visit the game’s official website.
