Facebook iOS apps expected to receive major updates in the near future

Facebook is rumored to be working on major updates for its iOS apps. The updated apps are expected to release in the near future.

It was only last month when Facebook rolled out an updated version of its iOS app. That particular update brought user interface changes for the iPhone app, making it blend well with the major UI changes that Apple has done in iOS 7. Facebook decided not to update the iPad app and keep the old user interface, there’s no word as yet if the social network has any plans of making user interface changes for the iPad app.

The main Facebook app for iPhone is said to receive Graph Search in the next update. Facebook launched the Graph Search feature earlier this year, it lets users findĀ people, places and interests from within their connections. Users will easily be able to see which of their friends like a particular page or a musician by simply using Graph Search. This feature will reportedly be incorporated in the app’s main search bar.

Facebook is also said to be updating its Messenger app, it is expected to receive design changes. Apparently two designs are being tested right now, the second of which is likely to be rolled out to users, it is said to be fitting for iOS 7. Messenger app is also likely to get the ability to access the iPhone’s Address Book, allowing users to see which of their contacts can be messaged through the standalone Facebook Messenger app. It hasn’t been said exactly when these updated apps will be released.
