EVGA X58 SLI Classified 760 (Non NF200) Run-Through

This is a simple feature comparison of the Classified 760 vs Rampage II Extreme motherboard that will be targeting the same market segment. Having owned a Rampage II Extreme retail motherboard for about 2 months, I would also like to do a little comparison on both boards in terms of usage experience.

Now, let us take a look at some features in comparison between the two boards that entusiasts and overclockers may find interesting.

  • 3 x PCIe x16 slot + 1 x PCIe x1 slot (only usable for Asus X-Fi Soundcard)

     

  • Allows 3-way SLI/CrossfireX only on Chassis with 8 expansion slots (for dual slot GPUs in Crossfire/SLI)

     

  • Allows 2-way SLI/CrossfireX + 1 single slot Nvidia based GPU for PhysX on Chassis with 7 expansion slots, GPUs will be slotted right next to each other (for dual slot GPUs in Crossfire/SLI)

 

 

  • 4 x PCIe x16 slots + 1 x PCIe x1 slot (for devices no longer then a Creative X-Fi Titanium PCIe Soundcard)

2x 8 pin 12v Rail connector

 

 

 

  • This ensures that users can provide all the power he can give to the Core i7 processor when doing extreme overclocking, just imagine the amount of “juice” doubles when you connect 2 PSU’s 12v rails to it to. Note that it is ok to just make use of either one of them only and it will not affect your normal overclocks but only extreme overclocks.

 

 

Higher Percentage of Gold used on the socket 1366 pins

 

 

 

 

  • Lower impendence, may improve overclocking.

 

 

Dedicated Inductor for CPU MCH 

 

 

 

  • Acts as a reservoir for buffering transient current draw.
