EVGA has announced a new GeForce GTX 980 Ti VR Edition graphics card designed specifically for VR gaming.
The card comes with a 5.25-inch front panel which houses two USB 3.0 ports and a dedicated VR-ready HDMI output to connect a VR headset. However, the Oculus Rift CV1 will be a no go as the headset requires four USB ports for it to be powered, two more than what the EVGA GTX 980 Ti VR Edition offers.
EVGA will be offering the graphics card with two cooling options – its own ACX 2.0+ cooler design or the reference NVIDIA blower cooler. As for performance, don’t expect anything very different from what a standard GTX 980 Ti can achieve, as the GTX 980 Ti VR Edition comes with reference clock speeds.
EVGA hasn’t revealed any info on availability or pricing.
