Duck Hunt re-release scheduled for Wii U Virtual Console

The classic NES shooting game Duck Hunt is making a comeback, and will be available for the Wii U Virtual Console.

Duck Hunt was originally released in Japan in 1984 and then later the next year in North America, and three decades later it is making its way back into people’s living rooms.  The main difference this time around is a NES Zapper isn’t required for shooting down ducks.  Instead, players will have to rely on the Wii Remote, which doesn’t exactly look like a nifty gun but will do the job just fine.

Various game critiquing outlets have dubbed Duck Hunt as one of the greatest games on a Nintendo System.  IGN went as far as to place the game in the 77th spot out of 100 top NES games of all time.

Eighty’s babies looking for a quick dose of nostalgia can get just that with this re-release of Duck Hunt.
