Nope, that’s not a typo. Dell has indeed unveiled its first UItraSharp series monitor with an OLED panel.
The UP3017Q features a 30” 4K 3840 x 2160 OLED panel with a pixel density of 146 pixels per inch. Dell claims a static contrast ratio of 400,000:1, which is way higher than what even the best LCD monitors are capable of achieving. Apart from being able to reproduce true blacks, the monitor also boasts of a blazing-fast 0.1ms response time, which again, is unmatched by any current LCD monitor.
The monitor is claimed to cover 100% of the Adobe RGB and 97.8% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, making it a fantastic option for professional photo and video editors. To prevent burn-in, Dell claims to have adopted a pixel-shifting algorithm.
Dell will begin shipping the UP3017Q by the end of March for a $4999 MSRP.
