Dell is bringing its “InfinityEdge” branding to its monitor lineup with the new U2417H Full HD UltraSharp series monitor.
The Dell UltraSharp 24 InfinityEdge monitor offers 45% less bezels compared to the previous 23.8” monitors from Dell. Not only are side bezels extremely thin but the top and bottom bezels have also been slimmed down significantly. The top and side bezels now measure 5.30mm while the bottom bezel measures 8.33mm. That’s a significant reduction compared to the U2414H.
The monitor comes with a 23.8” IPS panel with a matte anti-glare screen coating and 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution. It offers 1000: 1 static contrast ratio, 60Hz refresh rate, 178/178 degree viewing angles, 99% sRGB color gamur coverage, 250 cd/m² maximum brightness, 8ms response time (6ms in ‘Fast mode’), and a standard WLED backlight. It comes factory calibrated with a claimed DeltaE value of <2.
The stand offers nearly all forms of adjustments, including height, pivot, swivel and tilt. You can also easily remove the stand with the quick-release proprietary bracket mechanism and install a 100mm VESA stand or mount instead. Ports on offer include a DisplayPort 1.2, DisplayPort 1.2 output (for MST Daisy Chaining), MiniDP 1.2, HDMI 1.4 with MHL 2.0 support, and four USB 3.0 ports. There are no speakers onboard but you do get a 3.5mm audio jack.
No details about availability or pricing yet, but you can expect it to go on sale somewhere around February next year.
