The Sonic Carrier utilizes Creative’s proprietary EAX 15.2 Dimensional Audio processing algorithms, which upmix and upscale all audio signals into a 11.2.4 high-resolution audio data that is then deliver via the system’s 15-driver main unit and a 2-driver wireless subwoofer. There are nine front-firing drivers, four up-firing drivers, two side-firing drivers, and two subwoofer drivers.

The Creative Sonic Carrier demo theatre managed to impress everyone from journalists, industry peers, to trade visitors. “I watched the theatrical release of Avatar with my kids in a real cinema. The Avatar demo clip they showed on the new Creative Sonic Carrier was even better than that cinema experience. I could hear the fine details in the jungle atmosphere enveloping me – even the sound of the bugs flying around and above me. It was a hyper-realistic experience,” said Madeline Nelson, CEO of Heads Audio.

Chris Chiarelaa, noted audio/video journalist was mighty impressed with the Sonic Carrier too. He said, “The demonstration of the Creative Sonic Carrier was a genuine revelation, the likes of which Ihaven’t experienced in ages. It excelled as both a room-filling home theatre system and as an impressive implementation of Dolby Atmos technology. Hard to believe that it was just the one box, plus subs. Can’t wait to hear the final version,”

Creative has priced the X-Fi Sonic Carrier at $5000, but it is currently available for pre-order at an attractive price of just $1750 for the first 200 buyers. As more units are sold, the pre-order price will keep on increasing in stages. The home cinema system is expected to begin shipping in September.
