Creative has announced that its new Sound BlasterX G5 71 HDA portable audio sound card with built-in headphone amp is now available for purchase in the United States.
The Sound BlasterX G5 is a 7.1 HD audio external sound card and comes with a SB-Axx1 multi-core chip for hardware accelerated SBX Pro Studio enhanced audio and can transform basic stereo into 3D positional surround sound on your headset. With multi-channel support, the sound card can deliver true 7.1 audio for an engaging surround experience when gaming or watching movies.
Targeted at audiophiles, the Sound BlasterX G5 features a 24-bit/192KHz, 120dB USB DAC and headphone amplified with 2.2 ohm output impedance to easily drive even studio-grade headphones up to 600 ohms and other sensitive in-ear monitors. The volume control knob and the dedicated SBX and Scout Mode buttons are illuminated, allowing easy reach during gaming sessions.
The external sound card offers all the usual inputs and outputs such as line-in and optical connections. In addition to those, a USB-device port is also included at the back with maximum output of 100mA to drive your gaming mouse or keyboard. A 4-pole connection for headsets is also offered.
