Announced at Computex 2016 in June, the Cougar Attack X3 RGB mechanical keyboard is finally available for purchase.
The Cougar Attack X3 is basically identical to the Attack X3 in terms of the design as well as features, but adds RGB lighting. Users get to choose from nine preset lighting options and the ability to customize the RGB lighting to their preference with the Cougar UIX software. You can sort through all the lighting options without using the software, simply by using shortcut keys.
The keyboard uses Cherry MX RGB switches instead of the standard Cherry MX switches that you find on the Cougar Attack X3. However, you do get the same aluminum-and-plastic body, N-key rollover, 1000Hz/ 1ms polling rate, and a 1.8m braided cable. In terms of dimensions, the Cougar Attack X3 RGB measures 170 x 467 x 40mm and weighs in at 0.9 kg.
The Cougar Attack X3 RGB mechanical keyboard can now be ordered via Amazon in the United States, where it has been priced at $110. It is expected to ship between January 4 and January 20, so you will need to wait before you get your hands on it. At $110, the Cherry Attack X3 RGB isn’t a bad choice by any means, especially when you consider the fact that there aren’t too many RGB mechanical keyboards available around the $100 mark.
