Coolpad today announced its second Cool-branded Android smartphone, in partnership with LeEco. The new Cool Changer 1C happens to be an affordable mid-range handset with a premium metal unibody design and impressive specs for the price.
The smartphone features a 5.5-inch 1080 x 1920 Full HD resolution display with in-cell technology. Powering the Cool Changer 1C is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 652 octa-core chipset, with the Adreno 510 GPU. Being a mid-range smartphone, it comes with “only” 3GB of RAM and includes 32GB of onboard memory. Storage can be further expanded in future, thanks to a microSD card slot.
The rear camera on the Cool Changer 1C is a 13 megapixel unit with phase detection autofocus (PDAF), an f/2.0 aperture lens, and a dual-tone LED flash. On the front of the handset is an 8MP snapper with an f/2.2 aperture lens for selfies and video calls.
Connectivity specs include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1 Low Energy, GPS with GLONASS, 4G LTE, and a USB Type-C port. The fingerprint scanner, as you can see in the image above, is positioned at the back. Keeping the lights on is a 4060mAh capacity battery, which supports fast charging as well. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with LeEco’s EUI 5.8.
The Cool Changer 1C is now up for registration on the LeMall website. It has been priced at RMB 899 ($130) in China and will be available December 5 onwards.
