Console fan launches petition against bringing GTA V to PC

Interestingly enough, one devout console gamer has launched a formal Change.org petition which stands wholly against Rockstar Games releasing a highly coveted PC version of Grand Theft Auto V.

To say this sentiment is unpopular would be putting it mildly, as millions of PC gamers across the globe are clamoring for Rockstar to announce a PC version of the highly anticipated title. The anti-PC petition was started by one Trevor Phillips, who has cited online piracy as the petition’s main cause.

On the page, Phillips states that GTA V shouldn’t be released on PC “so PC Gamers learn their lesson and stop stealing games”.

To date the petition has only gained twenty five signatures–a paltry number when compared to the near 340,000 signatures who support bringing GTA V to PC.

With less than a week until its release, the gaming world is poised to receive Rockstar’s bounty and news on GTA V has reached a fever pitcheven after major spoilers swamped the internet after an ill-fated PSN pre-load campaign.

New updates on the game are steadily flowing from both Rockstar as well as unofficial leaks, one of which revealed the massive continental map featured within the official Brady Games strategy guide.

While the PC community continues to clash with its estranged half-brother, the console following, there is one thing they agree upon: that Grand Theft Auto V is a spectacle of epic proportions. If Rockstar continues their current trend in bringing PC ports of GTA titles, it may be some time before GTA V is released–a prospect that is more than irksome to PC gamers.

In any case, PS3 and Xbox 360 owners are avidly counting down the days–less than seven now!–and have no-doubt double-checked midnight launch parties with their pre-order retailers.

Grand Theft Auto V is slated to release on Sept. 17, 2013 for Xb0x 360 and PlayStation 3. For more information be sure to check out our recent coverage or visit the game’s official website.
