As promised, trusted leakster @evleaks has spilled the beans on almost the entire spec-sheet of HTC’s upcoming 2016 flagship smartphone, codenamed “Perfume”.
The HTC “Perfume” will arrive with a 5.1-inch 1440 x 2560 Quad HD resolution display, claimed to be an AMOLED panel, just like the One A9. Unsurprisingly, the Snapdragon 820 chipset will be powering the HTC flagship, paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. A microSD card slot will be offered too, so expanding the memory further isn’t going to be a problem. A fingerprint sensor will be embedded on the physical home button, similar to the setup on the One A9.
HTC’s UltraPixel camera tech will be making a comeback with the Perfume, this time with an upgraded 12MP resolution and laser autofocus tech. The front-facing camera resolution wasn’t revealed but the report did say that it too will feature optical image stabilization (OIS).
Surprisingly, HTC “Perfume” isn’t going to feature the company’s now signature “BoomSound” front-facing stereo speakers. On the software front, it is tipped to boot Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with HTC’s Sense 8.0 UI layer on top.
As had been suggested by a recent report, the HTC Perfume will not be shown at the Mobile World Congress next month. The company will instead be announcing the smartphone at a later date, although no concrete release schedule was shared.
