This carbon fiber iPhone 7 costs $17,000

The iPhone 7 Plus starts from $769, but if money isn’t an issue and you’re looking for something more exclusive, Swiss luxury company Golden Dreams has you covered. The boutique has rolled out the iPhone 7 Carbon Concept Edition, which it says is its “lightest and strongest smartphone ever made.”

The phone features a hand-made carbon fiber casing, and each unit will have a unique serial number. Golden Dreams intends to release just 77 units, and the exclusivity combined with the exquisite materials results in an astounding $17,000 retail tag.

Golden Dreams said that it took two years of research before it could figure out how to make a sustainable carbon fiber chassis for a phone. The upside of forking out $17,000 for the retailer’s iPhone is that it is extremely durable, and immune to scratches. You also get a two-year warranty and a VIP concierge service.
