Canon has announced the latest in its line of EOS M interchangeable lens mirrorless cameras. The EOS M200 combines advanced image sensor and autofocus technology with user-friendliness and portability, and is ideal for social media enthusiasts.
Aimed at entry-level enthusiasts keen on upgrading to a camera capable of superior image quality while retaining the convenience and ease to upload content to social media, the EOS M200 sports a 24.1-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor.
A fast autofocus system is key for a significant upgrade in photography equipment, and the EOS M200 accomplishes this with industry-leading Dual Pixel autofocus technology, improved and expanded to 143 points.

Eye Detection AF allows for greater ease in composition, ensuring that images captured lock focus on the subject’s eyes. This complements the M200’s 180-degree flip screen that makes shooting selfies natural and seamless with a dedicated self-portrait mode.
Being an interchangeable-lens system, the EOS M200 leverages on Canon’s extensive and growing EF-M lens selection, with macro, portrait, wide-angle and telephoto options. Users can even tap on Canon’s even more expansive EF and EF-S family of DSLR lenses with an adapter.
Its portability is its most important feature, and at 299g (body only), the EOS M200 is ideal for fuss-free travel and even everyday use. It is also designed to be stylish and functional, with a textured grip and intuitive three-mode dial that allows for ergonomic operation.

Designed for beginners, the Creative Assist function allows budding photographers to better understand and operate camera functions with easy-to-understand terminology. Change the “brightness” and “background blur” without needing to know anything about shutter speed or aperture.
For artistic flair, the EOS M200 also provides a variety of in-camera creative filters, such as grainy film, HDR oil painting, watercolour and fish-eye.
Social media enthusiasts will also benefit from the ability to record video natively in vertical orientation for platforms like IGTV and Instagram Stories.
Users can then easily transfer captured media to their smartphones and other compatible devices via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.
The EOS M200 will be available in Singapore from October 2019 at SGD 1,009 as a kit with the EF-M15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM and EF-M22 f/2 STM, and at SGD 809 as a kit with the EF-M15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM only.
I like this one because of its special purpose on social media use.
