Need higher ultra-fast storage on your desktop PC? Samsung now offers exactly what you need. The company has today announced the launch of its 2TB 850 PRO and 850 EVO SSDs.

With the addition of the two new models, Samsung now offers a total 20 different 3D Vertical NAND drives ranging from 120GB to 2TB. Both the 2TB 850 PRO and EVO solid state drives come in the same 7mm 2.5-inch aluminum case as the other models.

They are equipped with 128 individual Samsung 32-layer 128Gb 3D V-NAND flash chips, upgraded high-performance MHX controller, and four 20nm 4Gb LPDDR DRAM chips. The 2TB 850 EVO model comes with a guarantee of 150 TBW (terabytes written), while the more expensive 850 PRO model comes with a guarantee of 300 TBW.

In the near future, Samsung also hopes to launch 2TB 850 series drives in the mSATA and M.2 form factors. For now, you will have to pay around $800 for the 850 EVO while the 850 PRO will cost you $1,000.
