Call of Duty Infinite Warfare trademarked by Activision

Following strong hints at the name of the next Call of Duty title, Activision has pretty much made things official by trademarking “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare” and “Infinite Warfare.” Activision has also released a teaser video with a man that addresses the viewer and possibly calls out the enemy faction in the game’s campaign as the Settlement Defense Front. The same character can be spotted in one of Call of Duty: Black Ops III’s multiplayer maps.

This year’s Call of Duty is under development at Infinity Ward, following Black Ops III from Treyarch last year. Activision is also expected to release a remastered version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, the franchise entry that brought the yearly shooter into the modern age and gave it critical acclaim. An official unveil of Infinite Warfare is expected sometime early next month. It’s likely Activision will be launching a couple of more teasers before the full announcement and give gamers an extended look at E3 in June.
