US smartphone maker BLU has introduced a new entry-level Android smartphone dubbed the Energy JR.
The smartphone is claimed to be an impressive performer in the battery life department with a claimed 3-day battery life. That is no doubt pretty impressive, although the rest of the smartphone’s specifications aren’t really impressive.
You get a small 4-inch display with 480 x 800 resolution, quad-core MediaTek MT6571 chipset, a measly 256MB of RAM, and 512MB of expandable storage. Yikes! At the back of the device, you will find a 3.2MP resolution main camera. For selfies, well, you get an almost useless VGA camera on the front. While we’re not surprised to see that the device lacks 4G LTE connectivity, it doesn’t even support 3G networks. All you get is support for 2G EDGE networks. Finally, the smartphone runs on Android 4.4 KitKat, a version that launched in the year 2013.
In case you don’t mind the specs and think that the battery life alone makes it a good buy for just $39, you can now buy one in Black or White from Amazon.
