American mobile manufacturer BLU has unleashed two new budget smartphones called the Dash X2 and the Dash M2. BLU’s new phones are among the cheapest on the market with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box (oddly with app icons from a previous iteration of the OS) and with aluminium bodies. The Dash X2 is priced at $84.90 while the Dash M2 is even cheaper at $69.90.
In terms of hardware, the Dash X2 comes with a quad-core MediaTek MT6580 processor, 1GB of RAM, a 5-inch HD display, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and 8GB of internal storage expandable with a microSD card. The M2 comes with similar specs, but with half the RAM, half the internal storage, and 5 MP and 2 MP rear and front-facing cameras. Both handsets have dual SIM slots and support all the GSM networks in the US.
The Dash X2 and Dash M2 are available for purchase from Amazon.com. There’s no word on whether the devices will be launched in other markets.
